Individuals impress, team comes in low

MANISTIQUE – The Manistique Emeralds’ swim and dive teams hosted Westwood last week. Despite a much improved effort from several swimmers, the boys dropped 99-60 to their guests. The girls also came up short, losing by a score of 119-99.

“PJ (Bir), Sam (Stoll) and Lily (Boudreau), each set new marks today,” coach Beth Aldrich said. “I was also impressed with the time of Allison (Halpin), Jared (Johnson) and Kelsy (Gonyea).”

Aldrich also gives credit to Robert Ayotte for taking first place in diving after starting to dive for the team just one week ago.

The Emeralds are slated to take on Marquette at home today (Thursday).
