Wilbert Tanguay Wilbert Tanguay Wilbert “Willy” Tanguay, 86, of Cooks, Mich., died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility in Manistique, Mich.

He was born Feb. 1, 1926 in Manistique, the son of John and Dorothy (Swalback) Tanguay.

He was self-employed as a farmer in Cooks.

Willy is survived by his daughters, Susan (Ray) Reid of Manistique and Penny Briggs of Belmont, N.C.; his grandchildren, Brian Lemirand, Terri Lynn Wheeler, Michelle Vaughn, Rebecca Parrott and Joseph Leusby; great-grandchildren, Ashlee Wheeler Bryant, Autumn Vaughn, Levi Lemirand, Mitchell Vaughn, Dylan Lemirand, Deborah Jo Parrott, Brantleigh Parrott, Danielle Lemirand and Peyton Parrott; and his great-great-grandchildren, Kenlee Lemirand and Layla Lemirand.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Peggy (Vertz) Tanguay; son, Robert “Bobby Joe” Tanguay; daughter, Deborah Tanguay-Leusby; and grandsons, Daniel Lemirand and Robert A. Tanguay.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 23, at Messier Broullire Funeral Home in Manistique. A graveside service for Wilbert and Peggy Tanguay will be held Memorial Day Weekend 2013 at Fairview Cemetery in Manistique.

The family would like to thank all who loved, cared for and blessed Wilbert throughout his life.
