Cary L. Walker

Cary L. Walker, 41, of 412 South River St., Eaton Rapids, Mich., died unexpectedly on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012.

He was born Feb. 18, 1971, in Iron Mountain, Mich., the son of Paul and Linda (Osterhout) Walker and attended school in Munising, Mich. He was a graduate of Munising High School with the Class of 1990.

Cary was employed as a construction laborer and as a factory laborer.

Cary was an avid sports fan, especially for the Detroit Lion and Michigan Wolverine football teams. He was involved in local athletics, being a member of a slopitch baseball team and coaching youth football in Eaton Rapids. He had a positive impact on youth and was a big brother figure to many. He supported all youth programs. He had a big heart and was an advocate of the Anti-Bullying program and was also a pit bull advocate.

Cary is survived by his children, Xavier Walker, Dylan Walker and Brooke Walker all of Eaton Rapids; his parents, Paul and Linda Walker of Wetmore, Mich.; brothers, Paul Walker of Manistique, Mich., Jamie Walker of Milwaukee, Wis. and Cory Walker of Escanaba, Mich.; maternal grandmother, Laura “Pat” Osterhout of Manistique; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Chagnon in September of 2010; and an infant son in 1994.

Visitation will be held from 1- 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Messier-Broullire Funeral Home in Manistique. A memorial service will follow at 2 pm, at the funeral home, with Pastor Stephen Jones officiating.
