UPDON joins with UPCAP

ESCANABA – The U.P. Diabetes Outreach Network is now one of the Upper Peninsula Commission for Area Progress’s program partners. Jonathan Mead, CEO of UPCAP, recently made the announcement.

UPCAP will serve as fiduciary and employer for all staff working on UPDON activities.

As a program partner, UPDON plans to continue its mission of promoting partnerships to strengthen diabetes detection, prevention and treatment across the U.P.

“Partnering with UPCAP will mean many good things for the UPDON mission as both organizations understand the great need to support and enhance diabetes prevention and management services for all U.P. residents,” said UPDON Director Ann Constance. “Working within UPCAP will allow us the opportunity to continue to offer free and low-cost continuing education for healthcare professionals, free Personal Action towards Health workshops and be the diabetes information hub for the entire Upper Peninsula. It also means we will have opportunities to work together to address other ways we can help better serve U.P. residents living with diabetes or pre-diabetes.”

The UPDON office is located at 2803 US 41 West in Marquette, within the UPCAP Marquette office. More information about UPDON is available at www.diabetesinmichigan.org/updon.

For more information about UPCAP services visit www.upcap.org or dial 2-1-1 from anywhere in the U.P.
