Agency offers art minigrants

ESCANABA – The CUPPAD Regional Commission recently announced a second round of grant funding for local art minigrants. In partnership with the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, CUPPAD serves as the regional re-granting agency for the Central Upper Peninsula.

There are two components to the Minigrant Program for fiscal year 2013: Professional and Organizational Development grants and Art Project grants. There is $6,030 available for POD grants and limited funding of approximately $3,000 to fund one or two project grants.

The grants are aimed to address local arts and cultural needs. Michigan nonprofit organizations, schools and municipalities are eligible to apply. Grant activity must take place between March 1 and Sept. 30, 2013.

Applicants to the Minigrant Program must use the MCACA online application at mcaca. egrant.net. Applications must be submitted online by Feb. 1.
