Paranormal group to present at library

MANISTIQUE – The Manistique School and Public Library will be hosting “A Journey through the Supernatural” with Tim Ellis and Brad Blair of the Upper Peninsula Paranormal Research Society on Nov. 12.

The event will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. and feature ghost stories, famous ghost photos, pioneers in the field of paranormal research, an explanation of unseen entities, and first hand experiences from Ellis and Blair, who have over 12 years of experience in chasing ghosts.

Ellis and Blair created the Upper Peninsula Paranormal Research Society in 2000, along with childhood friend Steve LaPlaunt. For more information on the Upper Peninsula Paranormal Research Society visit www.upprs.org.

Environmental board seeking new member

MANISTIQUE – The Environmental Education Laboratory Board is seeking a new member. Interested individuals should have an interest in the environment and increasing awareness of the natural history in Schoolcraft County.

Letters of interest may be mailed to Doug Smith, chairman of the EEL board, 693N Krummich Rd., Manistique, MI 49854. The board meets on the first Tuesday of each month in the Schoolcraft County Courthouse. Application deadline is Dec. 3

Amity group plans ‘homemade’ auction

MANISTIQUE – The Manistique Amity Group will hold a “Homemade Items Auction” on Nov. 14 at 9:30 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Manistique.

Members are asked to bring two homemade or baked items, or donate $5. The group is seeking donations to send to U.S. troops, including Christmas cards and/or Christmas post cards.

Art club sets meeting

MANISTIQUE – The Manistique Art Club will hold their monthly meeting on Nov. 12. The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at 233 Walnut Street.
