GFCW club speaker will address etiquette

MANISTIQUE – The GFCW Manistique Women’s Club featured November speaker will be etiquette expert Jean Williams. Williams will present her topic, “Manners – Please and Thank You” at the meeting on Nov. 13, at noon in the Comfort Inn.

Members may bring donations for the Thanksgiving basket and Operation Christmas Child or sign up to be a Salvation Army bell ringer on Dec. 8.

Tickets for the luncheon are $10 and available at the Peoples Store until noon on Nov. 12. Tickets must be presented at the luncheon. No reservations or ticket sales will be accepted after the deadline.

Habitat seeks votes in FedEx grant contest

MANISTIQUE – Habitat for Humanity – Hiawathaland ReStore is vying for their chance to win a $25,000 FedEx grant.

Winners will be chosen from the top 100 companies in the contest, based on that business’s story and how many votes are obtained.

Residents may vote for the area store by visiting http://grantcontest. fedex.com/fedex-smallbusiness grant-voting/microsite, selecting “Michigan” and searching “Manistique”. Voters may also visit www.hiawathalandhabitat.com for the link or visit the Hiwathaland Facebook page. The site accepts one vote per day until Nov. 24.

Methodist church to host Nov. pasty sale

MANISTIQUE – The Manistique First United Methodist Church will hold a monthly pasty sale on Nov. 14 and 15, at 190 N. Cedar St.

Supplies are limited, so early orders are encouraged. Call 341- 6662 to place an order or for more information.

There will be no pasty sale in December.
