Community orchestra plans fall concert

MANISTIQUE – The Manistique Community Orchestra, under the baton of conductor James Hatfield, will perform on Nov. 3, at 3 p.m., in the First Baptist Church on Walnut Street in Manistique.

The performance will feature “Presidential Polonaise” by John Philip Sous, as well as “Can Can”, the “William Tell Overature”, “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” and “Espana”.

A free coffee and refreshment hour will follow the performance. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.

Foster Grandparent advisory meeting set

MANISTIQUE – The Schoolcraft County Foster Grandparent program Policy Advisory Council Meeting will be held at 10 a.m. on Nov. 7 at the Manistique Early Childhood Center in Manistique.

Auxiliary aids and services are available upon request to individuals with disabilities.

Bridge Marathon awards party held

MANISTIQUE – The Manistique Annual Bridge Marathon Awards Party was held at the Hiawatha Township Hall on Oct. 16.

First place went to Joyce LaTulip and Nancy Brown; second place, Carol Hough and Lorelei McRoberts; third place, Judy Provo and Jackie Villemure; and low, Barb O’Connor and Judy Rodgers.
