Local GFWC Women’s Club attends district meeting

ESCANABA – Seven members of the GFWC Manistique Women’s Club attended the organization’s Upper Peninsula District meeting in Escanaba on Oct. 4.

Marty Groleau, of Manistique, was installed as president of GFWC Michigan Women’s Club last spring. It was the first time in the district’s history a woman from a U.P. club has served as state president.

During the meeting Liz Hill, current president of the Manistique Club, was named second vice president of the U.P. district and Bonnie Garvin, of Manistique, first vice president, was installed as the district’s treasurer.

The GFWC Manistique Women’s Club meets at the Comfort Inn on the second Tuesday of the month September through May. Those interested in becoming a member or for more information, call Liz Hill at 341-1899 or email manistiquewomensclub@yahoo.com
