Blood center to hold drive in Manistique

MANISTIQUE – The U.P. Regional Blood Center will conduct a blood drive in Manistique on Nov. 8. The drive will take place in the Blanchard Center, 401 Deer St., from 1-5 p.m.

For an appointment call 341-7578. Walk-ins are also welcome.

Area women’s club plans candy sale

MANISTIQUE – The GFWC Manistique Women’s Club is again offering its Terri Lynn candy and nuts. The candy may be purchased at several locations throughout the area.

The nuts and chocolates are for sale at Limestone Federal Credit Union, the downtown, west side and Gulliver State Savings Banks and the Schoolcraft County Chamber of Commerce.

Proceeds from the candy sale benefit the GFWC Manistique Women’s Club community projects.

EDC to offer small business counseling

MANISTIQUE – The MISBTDC has partnered with the Schoolcraft County EDC and Michigan Works to provide free and confidential Small Business Counseling to persons who are interested in starting or expanding a business.

Lance Wolf will be taking appointments for Nov. 6. To schedule a free one hour session call the Schoolcraft County Economic Development Corporation at (906) 341-5126 or Michigan Works 341-1111.
