Pomeroy, Lawrence and Blowers medal at Finals

MANISTIQUE – Happy to be back in Division 2, the Emerald cross country team finished the season in Munising Saturday at the U.P. Finals.

Tyler Pomeroy finished his Emerald career covering 3.1 miles and taking third with a time of 18:13.2.

First honors went to Connor Cappaert of Stephenson with a time of 17:25.7, followed by Jared Joki of Ironwood with a time of 17:43.4.

Just on the heels of Pomeroy in fourth position was Emerald Bryson Lawrence. Lawrence finished his senior year medaling with a time of 18.37.2.

Rounding out the top 15 for the boys was Ryan Ramey who came in 12th with a time of 19:11.2

Also competing were: Robert Ayotte, 20:18.1; Roger Lustilla, 22:21.8; and Edward Rethman, 29:43.2.

Still competing as individuals were Holly Blowers and Darby Demers.

Blowers, new to the high school cross country scene as a freshman this year, covered the course in 22:04.1 to come in 10th.

Demers, in her last appearance for the Emeralds, finished the course in 23:14.2.
