Bay wins last home match

GARDEN – Competing in their last home match of the season Monday, the varsity Big Bay de Noc volleyball team took three out of five sets for the win.

During the match, against Hannahville, the Bears dropped the first game 25-20, but recovered for games two and three with scores of 25-10 and 25-19.

Hannahville came back in the fourth 25-23 to force the fifth game.

The Bears came back and finished the night 16-18 for the victory.

“This was a great pick me up for the girls,” stated varsity Coach Gail Demars.

The Bears’ JV and varsity teams will travel to Manistique on Oct. 25, to compete in the “Dig for a Cure” fundraising event. Games are set to start at 6 p.m.
