Grady Lassiter Warren
Grady Lassiter Warren, 92, Gulliver Lake summer resident, passed away at Treasure Coast Hospice House, Ft. Pierce, Fla., on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012.
He was born in Weldon, N.C., on June 7, 1920. Grady worked in steel construction for 45 years and retired in Salem, Mass., in 1982. He supervised projects in England, Russia, the West Indies, Bahamas, and Central America. He supervised the construction of wind tunnels for NASA, hydroelectric generation units on the Eufaula Dam in Oklahoma and the Seaquarium in Miami, Fla.
Grady was past president of the Treasure Coast Woodcarvers who gave him an annual award for service in his name.
He recently commemorated a 60 year diamond jubilee membership in the Masonic Order, Royal White Hart Lodge 2, in Halifax, N.C. He was a member of the Lake Worth Scottish Rite and the Mahi Shrine Temple in Miami. As a member of their Motorcycle Corps, he participated in many parades, including the Grand Parade at the Orange Bowl.
He and his wife Janet have resided in Port St. Lucie, Fla., since 1988.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Janet (Dixner) Warren; son, Michael (Dyan) of Cobbs Creek, Va.; daughters, Patricia Cowan of Northome, Va., and Lisa May of Richmond, Va.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Interment of cremation will be at Fairview
