Candidate forum to address questions

MANISTIQUE – The Manistique High School government class, along with the Pioneer Tribune, is hosting a Schoolcraft County Candidate Forum on Oct. 19. The forum will feature candidates in a question-and-answer format, addressing issues relating to the county.

The event will feature 109th District State Representative contenders Jack Hubbard and John Kivela. Local participants include candidates for county commissioner seats, as well as for the Schoolcraft County Sheriff’s Department. Candidates will have up to five minutes to answer three questions presented by a moderator. Following the initial trio of questions, the candidates will again be allotted up to five minutes to answer questions submitted by audience members prior to the beginning of the event.
