Bernard “Buzz” Lancour, 84, of 3106W U.S. Highway 2, Gulliver, Mich., died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at his home.
He was born Aug. 14, 1928, in Gulliver, the son of Bernard F. and Wendla (Frenette) Lancour. He attended schools in Gulliver and Manistique, Mich.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Force.
On July 31, 1955, he married the former Carol J. Swayer in Waukegan, Ill. and they had eight children. They lived in Milwaukee for a few years and later moved to Gulliver where they raised their family. Carol preceded him in death on Dec. 7, 1987.
Buzz was self-employed as an excavating contractor and equipment operator.
On Dec. 31, 1988, he married the former Patricia E. Stage in Germfask. They made their home in Gulliver and Patti preceded him in death on April 14, 2011.
He was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Gulliver and the American Legion. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and helping others.

(David) Fredrickson of Burlington, Wis., Lorrie (Mike) Popour of Manistique and Maureen (Dave) Houghton of Kincheloe, Mich.; step-daughter, Connie (Randy) Maxwell of Sheboygan Falls, Wis.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, David (Maureen) Lancour of West Allis, Harold (Betty) Lancour of Kenosha, Wis., Ed (Debbie) Lancour of Gulliver, and Bob (Sandy) Lancour of Gulliver; sisters, Irene McGivern of Kenosha, and Marie (George) Neville of Arizona; several nieces and nephews; along with special friends and caregiver, Randy (Lois) Cheshire of Gould City, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Doreen Lancour; his mother, Wendla Crawford; his father, Bernard F. Lancour; his wife, Carol J. Lancour; and his wife, Patricia E. Lancour.
Graveside services with veteran honors will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Fairview Cemetery in Manistique with Mr. Del Alden officiating.
