LaFave takes championship


Jim LaFave Jim LaFave MANISTIQUE – Jim La- Fave took High Gun honors at the recent Manistique Rifle and Pistol Club championship shoot. His handicapped score total topped all other shooters in the combined skeet and five stand one-day competition.

In the skeet rounds, Jake Verbunker and Bill Fries tied for first in A class with Verbunker coming out on top. Hart Stuehmer took home the third place trophy. Class B skeet was won by Al Arcand, with Mike

Glass placing second. Third place was taken by 12-yearold Zack Toennessen.

The five stand class A champ was Jon Johnson, with

Tom Bronz and Gary Finch picking up second and third place. Troy McDaniel outshot the competition in five stand B class walking away with first place, while Jim LaBreck took second. Third place was decided by a shoot-off and Toennessen prevailed.
