Nina M. Wild-Nigh


Nina M. Wild-Nigh Nina M. Wild-Nigh Nina M. Wild-Nigh, 100, of Manistique, Mich., died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility in Manistique.

She was born Nov. 20, 1911, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of William and Margaret (Shepley) Exton and was raised by her mother and step-father, Margaret and Harvey Yoder. She attended schools in Detroit and graduated from high school there.

On Aug. 30, 1930, she married Edward J. Wild, Sr. in Detroit and they made their home in Livonia, Mich. He preceded her in death on April 28, 1965.

Nina was employed at the Huron Valley Supper Club in Farmington, Mich., as a prep cook for many years. She retired in 1975 and moved to Manistique in 1976 from Livonia.

On May 15, 1980, she married Albert H. Nigh in Curtis and they made their home in Manistique. He preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 1986.

Nina was a member of the Clarenceville

Methodist Church in Livonia. She loved to spend time with her family, have family get-togethers, and loved maintaining her home, inside and out. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting, doing fill-in crossword puzzles and also fishing with her husband, Bert.

Nina is survived by her sons, Edward J. (Virginia) Wild, Sr. of Manistique and William R. (Judy) Wild, Sr. of Farmington Hills, Mich.; daughter, Patricia A. (Robert) Jackson, Sr. of Hale, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 18 greatgreat grandchildren; sister, Virginia Height of Clinton Township, Mich.; along with several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held in the Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi, Mich., at a later date.
