Editor’s note: The Schoolcraft County Sheriff’s Department makes weekly submissions, reporting news and activities from the office. Activities are generally broken down into those occurring in the jail and those in individual townships. Other information may include jail information, such as the number of bookings and average jail population. Not all activities are reported.
Sept. 3-9, 2012
THE JAIL
During the reporting period the average daily population was 25.29 inmates. There were four inmates booked into jail. Of these, all are male, all charged with felonies. Currently there are 25 inmates housed in the jail, four of which are female.
9/8/12: Deputies responded to a fight between two inmates in a cell. They were able to separate the individuals. One individual sustained minor cuts to the mouth. He was treated and placed back in the cell.  The other inmate was kept in the observation cell.  
HIAWATHA TOWNSHIP
9/3/2012: Deputies responded to North Creighton Truck Trail for a reported missing person from an out of state friend. Deputies were able to locate the person at their hunting camp. The person had no cell service, but in good health.
THOMPSON TOWNSHIP
9/3/2012: Deputies were on Indian Lake conducting marine patrol. Several vessels were checked and verbal warnings issued for minor violations.
