Volunteers needed to serve in CAA program

MANISTIQUE – The Menominee, Delta, Schoolcraft Community Action Agency is recruiting volunteers for their Senior Companion Program.

Senior companions should be 55 years of age and older and have a passion and desire to help others. Senior companions are paid a nontaxable stipend and transportation reimbursement.

Concealed weapons board plans meeting

MANISTIQUE – The Concealed Weapons Licensing Board for Schoolcraft County will hold its next meeting on Aug. 14, at 1 p.m.

The meeting will be held in the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Room 209, located on the second floor of the Schoolcraft County Courthouse on Walnut Street.

MARVIN upgrades to continue until Aug. 13

LANSING – Michigan’s Unemployment Insurance Agency will undergo a systemwide computer upgrade from 7 p.m. on Aug. 9, through 8 a.m. on Aug. 13. As a result, MARVIN by phone and MARVIN online, as well as the Claim Web Account Portals will be inaccessible to users during this time.
