‘Minigrants’ to local arts available from CUPPAD

MANISTIQUE – Grant money is available through the CUPPAD Regional Commission to assist in funding local art minigrants. In partnership with the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, the CUPPAD Regional Commission is the re-granting agency for the Central Upper Peninsula.

There are two components to the Minigrant Program for fiscal year 2013: Arts Projects and Professional Development Grants. These are special opportunities to address local arts and cultural needs, as well as increase public access to arts and culture. Michigan nonprofit organizations, schools and municipalities are eligible to apply.

Grant activity must take place between Jan. 1, 2013 and Sept. 30, 2013.

Applicants to the Minigrant Program must use the MCACA online application at mcaca.egrant.net. Applications must be submitted online by Oct. 1, 2012.

The MCACA will be conducting a free informational workshop on Aug. 14 from 1 – 3 p.m. in Marquette at the Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum to review the updated guidelines and application process changes for all of its programs.

For more information contact the CUPPAD Office at (906) 786-9234 or (800) 562-9828 or go to CUPPAD’s website at www.cuppad.org to view the updated guidelines and application process for the Minigrant Program.
