Building ‘foundation’

On July 25, Carmeuse Lime and Stone – Port Inland Operation management team presented a check for $1,000 to representatives from the Manistique Area Schools Foundation. The foundation, established in 1983, uses every dollar donated to provide local high school students with scholarships to attend college. The Port Inland Operation has been donating to this cause for several years, and plans to continue with this tradition for years to come. Accepting the donation on behalf of the foundation were: Sherry Varnum (left) and Wilbur LaBar. Port Inland representatives were, from left, to right: Lisa Holmberg, Gary Kaiser, Dave Mickelson, John Abbitt, Shaun Moore, Doug Troyer and Kevin Miller.
