ESCANABA – The Waterfront Art Festival will return on Aug. 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Escanaba’s Ludington Park.

“From wood to painting to glass and photography, we have a wonderful selection of vendors,” said Beth Ann Fudala, special events director for the Bonifas Arts Center. “We’ll have about seventy great places for you to shop, and there will be artist demonstrations, music of all kinds, a Young Artists’ Market, the Artists’ Raffle, and food. In addition, Jeanna Harmon will bring her belly-dancing troupe to perform between musical acts. Ludington Park in the summer is nearly perfect,” Fudala added. For more information, call (906) 786-3833 or visit bonifasarts.org.

‘Acquisitions’ now on display at Bay College

ESCANABA – The exhibit, “Acquisitions: 2011-2012”, opened at Bay College in the Hartwig Gallery on July 11. It will run until Aug. 15.

Each year, the college purchases both student and professional art, generally from college art exhibits throughout the academic year, including art from the Bonifas Fine Arts Center’s Northern Exposure show. Significant donations also come from a variety of individual gifts.

This summer, works by Robert Addison, Mara Manning, Robert Huebel, Brian Burroughs, Daniel Young, and others will be joined by student winners in both Art Students Shows, including: Jeremy Huffman, Zach Ericksen, Samantha Greenlund, Stacy Berg, Hailey McDermott, and Courtney Bergstrom.
