Garden wins season finale

Courtesy photos MANISTIQUE – The CUP Youth Baseball League recently concluded its season with their annual year-end tournament. Played over the course of three days, the tournament generated some exciting local baseball.

Game one saw the team from Garden defeat Bowman’s Gas and Oil, 12-1. Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital defeated Cooks U.P. Tire in the second game, 10-9.

On Saturday, Garden advanced to the championship game with a 6-3 win over SMH. Later in the day, U.P. Tire defeated Bowman’s Gas and Oil 21-3, knocking Bowman out of the tournament.

The weekend’s most exciting game took place on Sunday, when SMH knocked U.P. Tire out of the running with a score of 14-12.


Playing for Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital were Mitchell Green, Caleb Hubble, Joe Moeggenberg, Josh Tyler, Tristan Ashbrook, Colton Hoholik, Michael Derrico, Zach Tyler, Brett Boyd and Jerry Jack. Not pictured is Bryce Clarkston.
