Going to the fair?: County fair boasts events, games

MANISTIQUE – The Schoolcraft County Fair is back just in time for those looking for weekend entertainment. The annual event will take place this Friday and Saturday, with numerous activities and fun for the whole family.

On Friday, the fair opens at noon, with music by “Crossroads” being provided from 1 – 5 p.m. At 6 p.m., fairgoers can attend the Miss Schoolcraft County and Junior Miss Schoolcraft County pageants. The fair closes for the evening at 8 p.m.

Saturday boast a full agenda of activities, with doors opening at 10 a.m. Also at 10 a.m. is a Native American Dance Troupe. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., music will once again be provided by “Crossroads”.

At noon, fairgoers can attend the horse speed show, and at 3 p.m., the Little Miss and Little Prince Schoolcraft County pageant will take place. A clown will also be present throughout the day.

A raffle drawing at 4 p.m. will cap off the day’s events, with gates closing at 8 p.m. On both Friday and Saturday, horsedrawn wagon rides, foods and arts and crafts vendors, Abracadabra Arcade Jumps, various games, and a display of baby chick hatching in the animal barn will also be available.
