Winners announced in Malloy 4-man scramble

Courtesy photo MANISTIQUE - The 30th annual Bud Malloy 4-Man Scramble was held over the weekend at Indian Lake Golf and Country Club in Manistique.

The field of 80 teams and 320 golfers faced a daunting course and fierce competition during the event.

For the first time in three years, the tournament ended in regulation play without a playoff as the team of Matt Smith, Larry Bratonia, Nick Ahola and Matt Argall ended Sunday evening with a score of 116. Twenty-eight shots better than par.

In spite of an electric eagle shot by Steve Larson on the number one handicap hole 17, the winners emerged with a narrow one shot victory. Joining Larson on the runner up team were Michael Nagy, Steve Nagy and Josh Orler.

First Flight: Tom Rahilly, Nate Moulton, Joe Pigeon and Gary Moulton (125)

Second Flight: Jason Arnold, Dan Hawn, Dan Lancour and Dave Winkel (127)

Third Flight: Jordan Prunick, Scott Prunick, Tyler Hinkson and Jeremiah LaFlamme (132)

Fourth Flight: Fran Ettenhoffer, John Ettenhoffer, Terry Bittner and Mike Brayak (135)

Fifth Flight: Jeff Rochefort, Dick Ekstrom, Tim Zellner and Tom Boucher (133)

Sixth Flight: Dave Strassler, Ray Jacobsen, Oscar Olson and Chuck Olson (140)

Seventh Flight: Don St. Germain, Tom Sefin, Ward Rantala and Bob Bartkoiak (145)
