Mary Ann Borko
She was born on Feb. 8, 1930, in Manistique, Mich., to the late Joseph and Eunice New. On May 14, 1960, she married Steven Borko at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Manistique. Mary Ann enjoyed playing bingo, bridge and golfing. She also enjoyed music theatre and playing the piano. Mary Ann was a member of the Mary Guild at St. Mary’s Hospital and a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church. She and Steven also liked to travel.
Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband, Steven; son, Tom (Linda) Borko of Oconto, Wis.; daughter, Ann (Bryan) Denissen of Howard, Mich.; a granddaughter, Rachel Ann and friend, Joseph Norman; sister, Joan Giordano of Detroit, Mich. Mary Ann is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James New; and three sisters, Kathleen New, Helene Braun and Gertrude Fabry
Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 19, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave, from 4-7 p.m. Visitation was continued on Wednesday, June 20, at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2270 S. Oneida Street, from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. John H. Harper officiating. Inurnment was at Fairview Cemetery in Manistique.
