Library closed for holiday

MANISTIQUE – The Manistique School and Public Library will be closed on July 4, and resume regular summer hours on July 5.

Summer hours are Mondays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Historical society seeking nominations for honorees

GARDEN – The Garden Peninsula Historical Society is accepting names for the 36th annual Honoree Dinner to be held in September.

This tribute acknowledges the past and present residents of the Garden Peninsula who have turned 80 years of age. Names can be submitted by calling Brenda Tibbetts at 644-7609 or email at momtofour2009@centurylink.net.

Second swap for poultry, livestock set for June 30

TRENARY – Great Northern Poultry and Livestock Connection is having its second of four swaps for 2012 season. It will be at Holmquest Feed Mill, Trenary, Mich. on June 30, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

A silent auction will run from 10 a.m. until noon. Donations for the auction are accepted and appreciated. A bake sale, 50/50 raffle, music by Maude and concessions will also be available.

GNPLC members can sell items for free, but there is a $5 fee for nonmembers.

Membership to the GNPLC is $15 per year/per family. Contact Becky for information at (906) 942 7640.
