Raising funds for research

Courtesy photo MANISTIQUE – The number of golfers taking to the fairways was down this year, only 44, but organizers of the 10th “Rally for the Cure” scramble held at Indian Lake Golf and Country Club were still pleased with the results.

Organizers were able to send more than $1,800 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The money supports the organization’s research and awareness campaigns.

The results were:

Championship flight: First, place; Tammy Harris and Deb Lordson, 75; Second place, Lisa LaCasse and Karen McCorkel, 76; Third place, Julie Richey and Kris Boyd, 77.

First flight: First place, Denise Nebel and Bette Immel, 83; Second place, Jackie Villemure and Julie Roscioli, 85; Third place, Kate Steider and Patti Krzyzanski, 85.

Second flight: First place, Jackie Howard and Sue Klacer, 95; Second place, Deb Hirn and Jackie Perry, 98; Third place Ann Johnson and Ann Marie Laurin, 98.
