Church plans special presentation

MANISTIQUE – Two community development workers, stationed in Southeast Asia, will be giving a presentation about their work on June 28 at 7 p.m. in the

Cedar Grove Mennonite Church.

Serving through the Rural Asia Initiative, Ron and Melin’s work includes: community water filtration projects, agricultural programs, and micro-enterprise activities, such as sewing, cooking and handicraft businesses.

Ron and Melin, as well as their three children, have been working in Southeast Asia for approximately 15 years. Ron is a farming Layoutnative2 6/of 4/Michigan2012 2:and24 PMreceivedPage 1 agricultural degrees from Michigan

State University and Virginia Tech. Melin is originally from Richmond, Va., and received degrees in civil engineering from Virginia Tech and North Carolina State. Prior to serving in Asia, Ron worked for MSU Extension for seven years, while Melin worked for private engineering firms.
