60th wedding anniversary for area pair

MANISTIQUE – On June 24, 1952, the former Lois Padley married William Slusser at the Methodist Church in Midlothian, Ill.

After working for the Indian Harbor Belt Railroad as a trainman for 44 years, the Slusser’s moved from South Holland, Ill., to Manistique in 1992.

They have three children: Dawn (Lee) Finch of California, Lynn (Ted) Ktchens of Aldo, Texas and Lee (Chrisann) Slusser of Burleson, Texas. They also have been blessed with seven grandchildren.

William and Lois are active in the Church of the Redeemer and Indian Lake Golf and Country Club. They enjoy life in the Upper Peninsula, love the outdoors including watching the wildlife and fishing at Island Lake.
