mBank hires experienced banker in Manistique


Richard Demers Richard Demers MANISTIQUE – mBank recently announced the addition of Richard (Rick) Demers to the Manistique Commercial Lending team. As Commercial Banking Officer, Vice President, Demers will be primarily responsible for commercial loan origination, portfolio management and deposit gathering within the Schoolcraft, Delta, and Alger counties of the Central UP.

“Rick brings a wealth of local expertise, market knowledge, and overall banking acumen given his past professional experiences” said Kelly George, mBank President and Chief Executive Officer. “We are happy to have him back at mBank in a customer-oriented position where his business experience and community perspective will be highly valuable for our small business clients throughout the central Upper Peninsula.”

Demers returns to mBank after a several year absence, bringing extensive business banking and lending experience to this role. He also owns the Pioneer Tribune and the Ben Franklin/Peoples Store in downtown Manistique with his wife, Lisa.

“I am happy to be back at mBank.,” commented Demers. “I’ve had the opportunity to get to know Kelly and his management team well over the past several years and am excited to join this strong, talented group of people. I’m looking forward to working directly with customers and helping them achieve their business growth goals.”

Demers chairs the Manistique Downtown Development Authority and is a member (and past Exalted Ruler) of the Manistique Elks Club and Indian Lake Golf and Country Club. He is married and has three young adult children.
