James D. Brimm

James D. “Jim” Brimm, 72, of Lake Wales, Fla., and Manistique, Mich., died on Sunday, June 3, 2012, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale, Fla.

He was born on Dec. 31, 1939, in Thebes, Ill., to Sam and Opal Hendricks Brimm and began wintering in Lake Wales 15 years ago. He was a graduate of Troy High School in Troy, Mich., and retired after 30 years as an electrician for GM’s truck and bus plant in Pontiac, Mich.

He was a United States Navy veteran in electronic and radar service. He could fix anything and was a great carpenter. Jim enjoyed golf, nature and boating. He was of the Protestant faith.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Donaldeen Larsen Brimm; his six children, Grace K. Fogerty, Kimberly M. (Keven) Spencer, Robert D. (Beth) Brimm, Jerlene (Tony) Rapin, Wendy (Scott) DeMand, and Malisa (John) Ramer; nine grandchildren, Taylor, Anna Marie, Kyle, Brittany, Jacob, Jared, Joshua, Haley, and Brandon, all of Michigan; and brother, Rayford Brimm of Port Richey, Fla.

He was preceded in death by three brothers.

Memorial services were held Wednesday, June 6, at 2:30 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Keith Thompson officiating.
