Franklin D. Hill
Frank was born Nov. 4, 1958, in Marion, Ohio, the son of Franklin D. and Shirley Ann (McMullen) Hill. He was raised in Somerset, Ky., where he graduated from Wayne County High School. Following graduation, Frank served his country in the U.S. Marines for six years. Upon his honorable discharge in 1982, Frank worked in the newspaper business in Louisiana. He later worked in the shipyard business in Louisiana and Sturgeon Bay, Wis., where he met his wife Mary Ritter. They lived several years in Florida and Georgia until they moved to Nahma in 2006.
Frank’s hobbies included fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed working in the Nahma and Moss Lake Cemeteries.
In addition to his wife Mary, survivors include, son, Anthony (Tish) Groleau of Escanaba, Mich.; daughter, Dawn (Jason) Singley of Marietta, Ga.; sisters, Laura Hartwell of Lake Arthur, La., Lisa Hill of Bogotá, Columbia and Genola West of Somerset; grandchildren, Courtney, Logan, Landon, Cora, Liam, Danny and Mary; mother-in-law, Mary Lou Ritter of Nahma.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his fatherin law, Robert D. Ritter; and brother-in-law, Bob Ritter.
Graveside services celebrating the life of Franklin D. Hill will be held on Saturday, June 16, at noon at the Nahma Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at the family home following graveside services.
