Memorial Day event set

MANISTIQUE – On Monday, May 28, the Schoolcraft County All-Vets will be holding a Memorial Day program.

The program will begin at 11 a.m. at the Veteran’s memorial site on the Schoolcraft County Courthouse grounds. Richard Ketcik will serve as the Master of Ceremonies, with Darrell Dixon singing the National Anthem and the Rev. Jay Martin providing bagpipe music.

A firing salute, memorial address, and taps are among the services included in the ceremony.

Prior to the ceremony, the

All-Vets will perform “memorial firings” at Lakeview and Fairview cemeteries, and Lakeside Park. These firings will begin at Lakeview Cemetery at 9 a.m.
