MANISTIQUE - The Lady Emerald fast-pitch softball team improved to 11-16 with a pair of wins over the Stephenson Eagles at home Monday night.

Hot at the plate and behind a solid defense, Manistique took game one by the score of 13 to 3. Haley MacGregor got the win. Mac- Gregor struck out eight, walked three and gave up just four hits in five innings of work.

Sami Williams led Manistique going two-for-three at the plate.

Manistique escaped a rally by the Eagles to take game two 6-4. Williams got the start, Kalyssa Jenerou came in relief. Williams gave up three runs in three innings of work. Jenerou allowed just one run on two hits in four innings of work.

Kalya Bosen paced Manistique scoring three times in the win.

Manistique will host the Norway Knights tonight (Thursday) in a double header.

Saturday, May 19, the Lady Emeralds will host the Manistique High School Pink Tournament. Games get underway at 10 a.m. when the Emeralds take on Munising. Also attending the event will be Norway, Munising and St. Ignace.
