Five members of the Marquettebased string ensemble Eclettico played a wide variety of music, including pieces by Vivaldi, Sibelius, Bach, Lady Gaga, Journey and Taylor Swift.

The musicians taught students a little bit about their instruments, as well as musical concepts demonstrated by the various works performed.

The concert was sponsored by the Community Concert Committee, which also sponsored a cello concert for Emerald Elementary and Manistique High School students last fall.

Eclettico usually performs as a larger ensemble of about 15. Members performing in Manistique were: Alexis Mahler and Sara Beck on violins; Sonja Prychitko on viola; Andrew LaCombe on cello; and Harry South on string bass. The musicians are members of the Marquette Symphony Orchestra, and many are currently enrolled in college.

Eclettico may be available to come back to Manistique this summer to give string lessons. For more information about lessons, send an email to EcletticoTeachers@gmail.com or call Heidi Troyer at 341- 2965.
