Emeralds split wins on road against Munising

The Lady Emerald fastpitch softball team split a pair of games with the Munising Mustangs on the road Monday.

Dealing with the effects of strong cold winds coming off Lake Superior, the Emeralds used trips around the bases in Munising to stay warm.

Off 16 hits, and a strong defensive effort, the Emeralds took the opener 13-5.

Haley MacGregor was on the mound for all seven innings. Mac- Gregor gave up five hits, three walks, and three errors and struck out four batters.

Twenty-seven runs were scored in game two, with the Mustangs getting revenge with the 14-13 win in the night cap.

Kalyssa Jenerou got the start. She allowed seven runs on four hits and three walks in two innings of work.

MacGregor came in relief. Mac- Gregor gave up seven runs on 7 hits. She walked three batters.

Manistique takes on Gwinn Mon- day. Game one of the double header gets underway at 4 p.m.
