Manistique Merchants Easter Egg Hunt Saturday

The Manistique Merchants Association will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt for children this Saturday, April 7, at 11 a.m., on the playgrounds at the Emerald Elementary School.

Children 10 and under are invited to come meet the Easter Bunny and take part in the search for candy-filled eggs, as well as special eggs containing slips of paper redeemable for Easter baskets at participating businesses.

The small front parking lot at the school will be closed during the hunt. All attendees should use the main parking lot, which is located on Cattaragus Street just north of the school.

Organizers are once again asking for cooperation from the public to assure that the hunt is fun and fair for everyone. All children, no matter how young, are encouraged to stop by and get an egg from the bunny. However, once the hunt begins, the search should be limited to children who are toddler age and above – in other words, those who can hunt on their own, without assistance from parents, older siblings or other family members. Also, while the weather has been beautiful, everyone is reminded of how fast conditions can turn, and to dress appropriately for hunting eggs in the unpredictable Upper Peninsula springtime.
