Mark your calendars for the following up coming events.

Thursday, March 29: Creative Writing Group - 4-5 p.m. Writing short stories and memories, which eventually go into a published book with instructor Betty LaPointe.

Sunday, April 1: CBC held at Manistique High School Auditorium. We need your help! We will be accepting baked goodies for our Bake Sale Table. 100 percent profits go to CBC. Items needed include homemade fudge, bars, cookies, cakes, candies, etc. Donations can be dropped off at the Senior Center the Friday before the sale between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. or the day of the sale before 1 p.m. We will be accepting monetary donations for those that are unable to bake. We sincerely appreciate your support! For further information call 341-5923.

Tuesday, April 3 through May 8: Grief Recovery Series from 5-6:30 p.m. While grief is an individual effort, being with others who are experiencing similar feelings can help.

Thursday, April 5: Senior CSFP Free Food Distribution by CAA from 11 a.m. to Noon at the VFW. For further information, contact Don Tyrell at 341-2452

Friday, April 6: Good Friday. The Center offices will be closed. CAA Noon Meal and Home-Delivered meals will be served as usual.

Tuesday, April 10: Senior Center Board Meeting is at 10 a.m. Open to the Public. Connie will be guest speaker at the Women’s Club at 12 p.m., speaking on services and activities offered.

Wednesday, April 11: we will have a Foot Care Clinic provided by North Woods Home Nursing. Cost: $12.50, Please bring your own towel. Call 341-5923 for an appointment.

Thursday, April 12: Volunteer Recognition Picnic from 4-6 p.m. at the Center.

Thursday, April 19: Pancake Supper (In place of monthly potluck) $5 donation entertainment by Mud Hole Band at 4 p.m. Dinner at approximately 5 p.m. Join us for homemade pancakes, bacon, potatoes and anything else we find in the kitchen!

Thursday, April 19: Foster Grandparent Program Meeting at 10:45 a.m.

Friday, April 20: Share Program Distribution at 6:30 p.m. at the Center. Drop by the Center for a brochure to place your order!

Wednesday, April 25: Foot Care Clinic provided by North Woods Home Nursing, $12.50. Please bring your own towel. Call 341- 5923 for an appointment.

Thursday, April 26: Free Food Distribution provided by the Senior Center at 1:30 p.m. (One time only!) Please bring your own containers! We ask you do not arrive until 1 p.m., allowing for the Noon Meal attendees time to finish. This also allows time for free parking space. Creative Writing Group from 4-5 p.m.

Sunday, April 29: State run bingo – Eva Burrell Humane Society Fundraiser. 1:30-4 p.m. They would appreciate your support! Call Victoria George at 341-8180 for further information.

Wednesday and Thursday, May 23 and 24, Overnight Kewadin St.Ignace/Hessel/Sault Bus Trip $77 per person, bus departs from Center parking lot at 9 a.m.

Thursday, September 6: Annual Open House 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., please call the Center to sign up at 341-5923. BBQ Dinner with all the fixings, you must call a day in advance to register.

We are also open to any ideas or suggestions. Bring your info in and we will try our best to offer it. For further information, call 341-5923.

If you would like to sign up for our monthly newsletter, the cost is $5 per year. Info needed is: name, address, telephone number and birth date. January 1 of each year dues are due. We don’t send bills out, to keep the cost down. Feel free to ask for a complimentary issue.
