Auction for the Arts fundraiser welcomes donations of all kinds

It’s an exciting time at Escanaba’s Bonifas Arts Center as the staff and volunteers prepare for the annual Auction for the Arts, the biggest fundraiser of the year. This year’s theme is Phantom of the Auction: a Masquerade, and you’re invited to come in fancy dress, or not, as it pleases you.

The Center welcomes donations of all kinds for this event.

“Art works are great, and this is a perfect place to donate pieces you’ve loved,” said Beth Ann Fudala, Special Events Director for the Center.

“We offer much more at the Auction, though,” she continued. “Each year we receive donations of services, motel stays, restaurant meals, and items of all kinds. I remember one year we received a compost bin which sold very well.”

The deadline for donations is April 14. Items may be dropped off at the Arts Center, 700 1st Ave. South, during open hours of 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Pick up can be arranged for some items; call Fudala at (906) 786-3833 ext. 16 for information
