Elsie Sellers

Sellers, 101, of Engadine,

Mich., died March 8, 2012, at

Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility in Manistique, Mich.

She was born Dec. 9, 1910, in Garnet, Mich., the daughter of Adolph and Lydia (Matchinski) Flatt and moved to Engadine as a child. She attended school in En- gadine.

On July 7, 1930, the former Elsie Flatt married Richard F. Sellers in Detroit, Mich. They lived in De- troit for many years, retiring to En- gadine in 1974. Richard preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 2004.

Elsie was a homemaker who loved the sunshine, enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, and being outdoors. She also loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Engadine.

Elsie is survived by her son, Ronald R. Sellers of Manistique; grand- children, Marlene (Mark) Videtich of Hudson, Wis., and Merle (Marie) Sellers of Manistique; great-grandchildren, Katie, Nick and Ashley Vi- detich of Hudson and Eli, Ellie and Elise Sellers of Manistique; brothers, Leo (Margaret) Flatt of Engadine, Gerhart (Ruth) Flatt of California, Al- vin (Eldora) Flatt of Newberry, Mich., and Ervin Flatt of Engadine; sister- in-law, Clara Flatt of Engadine; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Charlene Sellers; her brothers, Edmond, Albert, Re- inhart and Otto Flatt; along with three infant brothers.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery in Engadine.

The family would like to give special thanks to Elsie’s niece Shirley for the love and help given to Elsie over the years.
