In an evening exceeding their expectations, the Elks Chili Cook-off was deemed a success. The annual cook-off held on Saturday, March 3, was established to support the Elks National Foundation. There were 17 entries in the very tightly contested competition. Unfortunately, only four places were awarded. Winners from left to right were: third place, Don Schoeffer; first place and People’s Choice, Phil Berger; and second place, Tom Money. Honorable mention braggin rights was given to Jan Wright and Andy Holub who came within one point of placing.
