Turkey licenses on sale Monday to all hunters

The Department of Natural Resources is reminding hunters that leftover spring turkey hunting licenses go on sale to unsuccessful applicants on Monday, March 12, at 10 a.m. and may be purchased by any hunter, including those who did not participate in the application process on Monday, March 19, at 10 a.m.

The 2012 spring turkey season runs from April 23 through May 31, with hunts lasting from seven to 39 days, depending on the hunt unit.

Unit M, which includes the entire Upper Peninsula except for Isle Royale has 6,900 of the original 8,000 available. The hunt in the U.P. runs for the entire period from April 23 through May 31.

Hunters may look up their drawings results and view leftover license quantities at www.michigan. gov/huntdrawings.
