Arthur E. Bauman
He was born June 28, 1925, in Manistique, the son of Frank and Nancy (Archey) Bauman and attended Manistique area schools.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy with both the Atlantic and Pacific Fleets.
Art was employed as a tool and die machinist with General Motors for many years, retiring in 1983.
He lived in the Grand Rapids, Mich., area for 35 years before returning to Manistique.
He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Manistique and also the Schoolcraft County V.F.W. Post No. 4420 where he served as Junior Vice-Commander.
Art is survived by his sons, Daniel A. Bauman of Goodell, Iowa, Arthur E. Bauman of Hudsonville, Mich., and Dennis R. Bauman of Gilbert, Ariz.; daughter Suzanne M. Omlor of Mass City, Mich., step-daughter Patsy A. Ypma of Kentwood, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; several greatgrandchildren; sister, Kay Rogers of Gulliver, Mich; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Beulah E. MacPhail; and his brother, William N. Bauman.
Visitation will be held from noon - 1 p.m., Saturday, March 10, at Messier Broullire Funeral Home in Manistique. A veteran memorial ritual will be held at 1 p.m., followed by the memorial service. Father Glenn Theoret will officiate.
Burial will be held in the Fairview Cemetery at Manistique.
